Monk vs Barbarian in Diablo3

Diablo III is a genre-redefining Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG) that sets players on a compelling adventure to thwart the forces of the Burning Hells, set on the rich world known as Sanctuary and other planes of existence. Players choose from five character classes to develop uniquely skilled heroes and heroines to combat the hundreds of varities of monsters, ultimately to defeat Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Diablo III was announced at the World Wide Invitational 2008 tournament and convention in Paris on June 28, 2008.

There is no doubt that diablo3 a great game.But which class do you like best?Barbarian, Monk,Witch Doctor,Wizard or Demon Hunter?
But today I talk about Monk VS Barbarian.

The Monk is one of two melee classes in Diablo 3 along with the Barbarian. While this class’s animations feature fist weapons and hand-to-hand combat, you can use a variety of weapons with the Monk.

The Barbarian is the melee based tank character available in Diablo 3, relying on power melee attacks and various shouts to increase their durability in battle.

Since the Monk and Barbarian are both melee classes, I am sure you are wondering what Monk is like compared to the Barbarian. Even though they are both melee classes, they are actually very different and offer different types of gameplay.

The first difference between the Barbarian and Monk is that the Barbarian just deals more damage outright. The Barbarian has better passive skills for boosting its damage like Weapons Master and Ruthlessness whereas the Monk’s damage boosting passives are more situational and not always active.

However, the Monk is not a useless class – it definitely has much better group buffing capabilities than the Barbarian and in my opinion slightly edges it out for survivability.

If you can remember back to early Diablo 2, Monks are more Paladins before Hammerdins became completely overpowered, whereas Barbarians are like Barbarians before Whirlwind was nerfed. Monks deal solid single target damage and have some decent AoE damage, but on average probably do less damage than all of the other classes. However, the Monk also has the best group buffs and best survivability. Better yet, they can have all of these traits at the same time.

Barbarians on the other hand do massive amounts of damage in both AoE and against single targets or can assume a more defensive posture. A defensive Barbarian can definitely tank as much damage (even more damage) as a Monk but definitely loses some of its offensive firepower to do so.

Monks will always be more survivable than Barbarians though simply because of the Monk’s Near Death Experience passive skill. If a strike were to kill a Monk, instead of dying he is brought back to life with 35% health and 35% spirit with a 90 second internal cooldown. This skill alone is likely to make the Monk the first hardcore class to clear Inferno mode.
